Stretching it to the max would be putting up the $1,650 it takes to buy into the main event of a Heartland Poker Tour tournament, or maybe even $10,000 to enter the main event of the World Series. 🔱 Relive the prestigious Triton Million for Charity event from #TritonLondon2019 with the official aftermovie. Meet the players, get to know the format,.

At the final table of the biggest buy-in tournament of all-time, one of the world’s top poker pros showed why the high roller community voted him the best player on the planet just a few months back.

1 Million Dollar Buy In Poker Tournament

Stephen Chidwick, who currently sits in first place in the Card Player Player of the Year race, and is no. 1 all-time on Britain’s all-time money list, showed off his hand-reading ability when faced with a tough decision at the Triton Million £1,050,000 buy-in final table in London.

With seven players remaining, Chidwick found himself in a tricky spot against chip leader Vivek Rajkumar, who put him to the test for his tournament life with millions in equity on the line.

Rajkumar, who had just taken out Timothy Adams on the hand before, raised it up on the button to 450,000 with the blinds at 100,000-200,000. Chidwick defended from the big blind with J 5, and the flop fell J 9 4. Chidwick check-called a continuation bet of 300,000, and then checked again when the Q hit the turn.

Rajkumar didn’t slow down, firing a big bet of 850,000. Chidwick called, and then checked for a final time when the 6 hit the river.

Rajkumar moved all-in, and Chidwick instantly threw in all of his remaining time bank chips, sending a clear signal to Rajkumar that he was considering calling off his tournament and his final 2,900,000 with just second pair and a weak kicker.

With two short stacks still remaining, Chidwick could have folded his way to another £1,300,000 or so in prize money. It didn’t end of up taking him too long to make the call, however, and Rajkumar could only reveal his bluff with A 8.

Watch the hand below.

Chidwick’s double up put him into a much more comfortable position in the tournament, allowing him to make it to four-handed play at the time of this article’s publishing, which guaranteed him £4,410,000.

The 30-year-old poker pro already had $25.1 million in career live tournament earnings entering the high roller, and with a win would jump Justin Bonomo for the top spot on poker’s all-time money list. The Trition Million winner will earn $23,180,000 Saturday night.

It was fun being the all-time money leader for a year, but it looks like I’ll be passing the torch soon. $23 million is a big payout lol @tritonpoker
It’s been an absolute dream, honor, and privilege to hold this position. Thank you universe
